I've been here twice now and both visits have been about the same. Both visits have been on football Sundays, so I imagine it would be a much different experience if you didn't go on a football Sunday. Both times the place was packed. I went with just my husband, so as a two top we didn't really get much attention from our waiter since there are always huge parties that always seem to get priority. Both times the service was not good, but since the place is slammed it's understandable. Still, it can get annoying to have to constantly flag down the waitress when they're spending most of their time with the big party. The food is hit or miss. Some of it is pretty good and some of it is not good. The chili cheese fries are good. I though the boneless wings were just okay, but my husband liked his traditional wings. Overall if it were just for the food and service I would skip this place, but we love their TV set up so I'm sure we'll be back to watch football again. The TVs are set up in a way that you never have to crane your neck because the TVs are everywhere. They also have some speakers so that you can listen to whichever game you want. That's really cool, I haven't seen anywhere else that does that. When it's busy though good luck getting any speakers.

I remember back in the day when I lived in Spring Hill, there wasn't a whole lot to do there. Rookies is a family owned businesses that is trying to change that image. The food selection is good and more importantly not complicated, as you would expect from a sports bar. The ribs are probably my favorite, very tender. There is a nice selection of beer and the mixed drinks are excellent. There are enough (well placed) televisions, so there isn't a "bad seat" inside. Despite it being a bar, they manage to still maintain a family friendly atmosphere. If you find yourself in Spring Hill, Rookies is a place to checkout.

Went this past weekend and watched some football. Had a very nice waitress named Britney who was a real sweetheart. Had a great burger this time and was very pleased with the wings we ordered.

Great place to get together with friends. Food was decent, had burgers and fries. Loved their IPA beer that they brew on site. Staff was pleasant and on top of things, I was in a group of 10 and they never let our drinks go down and were accommodating with orders. I would go back.

Appetizers; fried pickles were GREAT, nachos were alright but didn't have enough toppings on it. The wings were good. Could have been crispier. My brothers cheeseburger was good but not much flavor. He almost finished half the sandwich before he got the mustard to our table. The waiter took a little long on getting us our check and the price I feel is a little high. Great interment for a sporting events!

I am not a sports fan. I am a fan of food. Scratch that. I am a fan of bad-for-you but tastes amazing food. And this place satisfied my inner fat kid cravings without a doubt. My best friend and I came here after work on a Thursday night around 6:30pm. We were seated immediately and our waiter informed us of their happy hour (mon-fri 4-7) specials which we took advantage of in a flash! I did mention we just got off work, right? Not that I need an excuse... Rookie's menu pretty much made me wish I had the stomach of 4 elephants, a hippopotamus, and that guy from Man vs. Food. My eyes kept darting from page to page and finally after our patient waiter came back to our table the 4th time, we decided on "Mile High Nachos," Slam Dunk Grilled Cheese," "Garlic Knots" and "1lb. of mild chicken wings." It was a tough decision. I don't go out to eat often but when I do, I go all out. So lemme just say the mere thought of this feast is giving me the midnight munchies right now at 11pm. The "Slam Dunk Grilled Cheese" was just superb! It was a grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with mac n' cheese and bacon. That's right, MAC N' CHEESE AND BACON! Oh I'm about to start a pot of Kraft mac n' cheese but it would do this appetizer no justice whatsoever. The sandwich was quartered and each quarter placed artistically on a shot of creamy tomoato soup. If you're not drooling, you should be by now. We downed those suckers in a heartbeat. The chicken wings were just the right crispiness and seasoning. The garlic knots came out warm and smoothered with garlic and herbs. The nachos were quite supreme and could've been enough by itself for one person but you know, who wants to limit themselves to just one thing?! Variety is the spice of life, is it not? So after several drinks and a feast fit for Timon and Pumba, we rolled out of Rookie's with our stomachs fuller than they humanly should be. The service was friendly, the establishment itself clean and the food - need I reiterate? Can't wait to go back here and play Russian Roulette with the menu - I don't think it's possible to pick dissatisfying item!

Love this place. We went there on the first day the Jets were playing and the place was full of fans chanting and being loud and we loved it. It is not always like that but do know that their service was still excellent and my husbands burger was good according to him. The only thing I would say is that I got the pound of wings and they seemed a bit chewy. That's why they didn't get 5 stars. On the bright side they always have a great selection of beers!

This place is surprisingly great. I wasn't sure how impressed I'd be considering the location. However, we came in a big group and everything was really good. Everyone's came out hot. The service was a little lacking.

Great food ! Excellent Service . Worth the drive. Better than average prices and so many craft beers to choose from. We will be back !!

This is a good bar to watch your sports. I prefer the other sister bar they have in Spring Hill. This one is strictly ok if compared to the other. Here are some of my observations: Ambiance: it is sort of rustic. The bar is divided into 2 sections. We were in the sit down section which had booths along the perimeter and tables in the middle. The other half is more of a bar with fewer tables for groups. The section where we were at has enough TV screens along with 2 big ones to accommodate max football experience on a Sunday. Somehow the place is small and there can be a bit of a chaotic situation. I cannot comment on the other half which is more of a bar and was predominantly occupied by guys. The temperature control was an issue. On a beautiful day here in FL, the a/c was cranked up and on top of it, they had all the fans running. We had to ask our waiter to turn off the fans. Wish the place had windows that opened. Food: The menu is elaborate and caters to an all American sports crowd. Which is really a good thing. We ordered boneless chicken wings - mild and hot ones. They were ok. The huge portion of nachos was good too. But nothing was out of this world. The beer selection - drafts / bottles / crafts / micro brews was pretty decent too. They have a big board with the beers listed on it. Service: Our server was very nice although overloaded with the number of tables he was covering. They definitely needed one more server in our section. But otherwise - all the servers were trying their best to keep up with the very full bar. On a side note - again, as compared to their sister branch, this one gets a more older crowd. Another thing that I didn't like if I compared the 2. I even saw smoke coming out of one of the bathroom stalls which was pretty sad given how nice it was outside for all the smokers to take a break from a claustrophobic inside. But some people... Again, given I have been to the other bar they own which is so good, I'd go back to that one instead of this next time. Here are my rating splits: Food/Drinks: 3.5 / 5 Ambiance: 3 / 5 Service: 4 / 5 Price: 3.5 / 5 (Crowd: 1 / 5) :-) Overall: 3.5 / 5

Rookies would be my go to sports bar if I lived in Spring Hill. I love the atmosphere, the staff is very friendly, and it's a great place to watch sports. I've had a bunch of different entrees, and my favorites are the antipasto salad, Oriental salad and the grilled chicken sandwich. Their wings are also good, pretty substantial. The only item I've had that I was indifferent about was the ribs. I haven't had but my parents love their burgers. Overall, I've never been really disappointed. The beer selection is great and they even do a craft beer theme night on Sundays. They have specials every day and run a happy hour. If you go there specifically to watch a game and they aren't playing it over the speakers you can ask for a speaker corresponding to that particular TV, which is neat. Rookies is really fun, and I wish I had one near my house.

Visited this location 3 times - only ate twice b/c one of the times we stood at the front door waiting to be seated for 5 minutes (there was no line, just us) and not one person even acknowledged our presence, so we left. Crap service and just your standard sports bar food.

Great sports bar. I got the buffalo chicken dip, and couldn't eat it quick enough. They have a large menu to fit anyone's taste. Half the place is a bar with tables then the other half is more for family dining. Seems to have a lot going on during the weekends, and is a great place for watching the game (will be there for sure)

This is a pretty good place to go when you need something late at night and you don't feel like driving all the way over to 19. Their burgers are pretty decent. I've had the wings once, I ordered them medium and there was absolutely no spice to them at all, not even a little bit. I think next time I'll try them hot and see how that goes. The atmosphere is that of a typical sports bar, it can get pretty noisy if there's a big game on, but that's to be expected.

Good place to watch UFC. Food is OK, and I like that they have veggie burgers as an option. Service seems to have improved. They need to update their menus - some items are no longer available.

Not the best. Could've went across the street to Beefs for a little better quality food. $4.99 for a kids meal (Hot Dog and Fries) is pricey.

Walked in on a Tuesday afternoon around 4:45pm. Not too many folks in the place, maybe 13 including myself. Noticed a bunch of TVs around but you couldn't hear any of them as they were playing some obnoxious music kinda loud instead. Place had a funny smell to it, not nasty just couldn't put my finger on it. Waited almost 5 minutes before a waitress(very sweet young lady) came over. Took my drink order (unsweet tea) and left the menu. Decided on a bowl of their "homemade" Chili and the Buccaneer Burger. Waitress brings out the Chili, says " careful it's really hot" and set it down. Looked really good, but that is where it ended. Didn't taste like Chili whatsoever and was barely lukewarm. Brought out my burger a while later and it looked great....... once again that's where it ended. Took a bite and immediately noticed a "skunky" aftertaste. Burger was cooked exactly like I asked (medium) but just didn't taste right. It also was like warm at best. Had one little leaf of lettuce, one small thin slice of tomato, and a touch of onion! Now in their defense, the French Fries were good....... I stay at the Hampton Inn next door about 3 weeks out of the month, have been for the last two months, and finally decided to go...... Well I won't go back again. THEY ARE NOW OUT OF BUSINESS!!! Go figure!!

Food is delicious, service hasn't been the best the two times I've been here. I'll keep coming back, but the tips won't be good until service gets better.

Family friendly sports bar that offers good food at decent prices. I enjoy bringing my family to this establishment after soccer games. The live music can be a little loud at times, otherwise very nice restaurant.

I ordered a build your own burger when it was on special. I asked for it cooked to medium. It was completely raw on the inside. I mean RAW. I sent it back and it was cooked in the microwave! Gross. Couldn't eat it but still had to pay for it.

Been back a few more times since and am still of the same opinion really. The chili cheese fries were very good but the garlic parm wings were WAAAAY too garlicy, they were absolutley covered. Burger was good (Big Blue) but I just can't seem to get to really enjoy this place like I want to.

Great atmosphere, good food. However, they no longer serve my favorite teriyaki wing sauce. The buffalo chicken dip is the best.

When I was a kid my grandparents lived in Chicago. Sometimes when we visited we would be treated to a Chicago Dog fresh off the street cart. They were marvelous! Rookies should be ashamed of themselves to even infer that they serve a Chicago Dog. But, I did get a warning when after ordering the waitress came out of the kitchen and asked me if they really put a whole pickle on it! N O ! And, if you have to ask, don't serve it! (Cuz you did a V E R Y bad job). The bun (should be poppy seed but not) was so stale that the dog fell out and had to be eaten with a fork, red onions, wrong! No celery salt! When we asked for some we were told that they didn't have any, not even in the bar! Just how tasty are their Bloody Mary's without it?

So, now that my daughter does not work there anymore, I can write about this place! The wings here are really good. Very meaty. If you order a burger, you better be hungry! They are massive!!! For a sports bar they have a pretty diverse menu. On Mondays they have all you can eat snow crab for $20! That is awesome. The buffalo dip is very good. I love the Stanley cup pretzels! But, they have no REAL salsa for their nachos or chips!!! Chef is uhhh, very proud and won't make it???! Try the sampler platter if you are not sure what you want... Good prices for drinks. Gotta smoke outside.... It gets busy there, so wear your patience cap....

Sports bar. Just like the rest. Not bad. Not extraordinary. Drink specials and dining specials. Bartenders drink with the paying guests. Not sure how that works... Seems to be no "cut off" for drinking customers. And a baby in a bar? The food was average and not fresh or original. The menu was pricey for the quality you get. The good quality was on the same level as Wendy's and McDonalds. Unfortunately, I found this place to be poorly managed. I won't be returning.
